Amanvari Baja California: Three Nights Between Desert, Reef, and Sea
September 17, 2026
Dive Cabo Pulmo, Dine Privately, and Wake Above the Sea of Cortez at Aman’s First Mexican Retreat
Aman has finally arrived in Mexico, and it chose the wilder side of Los Aman has finally arrived in Mexico, and it chose the wilder side of Los Cabos. Amanvari Baja California was inaugurated on August 1, 2026, along the East Cape, where desert, estuary, mountains, and the Sea of Cortez meet away from Cabo’s busier resort strip. Only 18 casitas sit across the property, some raised above the landscape, others facing the estuary or positioned directly on the sand, with private heated pools, open-air terraces, and outdoor showers keeping the horizon constantly in view.

Amanvari sits inside the 1,500-acre Costa Palmas estate, where three miles of swimmable coastline meet desert trails, organic farms, and the Sea of Cortez. The location changes the way you experience Los Cabos. Head underwater at Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, ride along the East Cape at sunset, hike through the desert, or take to the water for paddleboarding, fishing, and seasonal wildlife encounters.
That landscape becomes the starting point for Amanvari’s most compelling itineraries. The three-night Ultimate Discovery folds the East Cape into the stay with private dining, meditation, and a choice of marine expeditions across the Sea of Cortez.
Explore Baja From the Water
The sea sets the pace here. Choose a private diving expedition through Cabo Pulmo National Marine Park, where one of North America’s oldest living coral reefs draws schools of tropical fish, rays, sea turtles, and larger pelagic species. If you prefer to stay above the surface, head farther into the Sea of Cortez for sport fishing, or spend the day tracing the coastline in search of dolphins, sea lions, mobula rays, and migrating whales when the season is right.
Back on land, the East Cape keeps the day moving. Horseback rides follow the shoreline at sunset, desert trails climb into the surrounding landscape, and paddleboards replace the boat when you want something quieter.
Experience the Ultimate Discovery
For a first stay, Ultimate Discovery makes the strongest introduction to Amanvari. The three-night experience ties together the landscape, gastronomy, and wellness program without turning the trip into a fixed itinerary.
A private Raíces y Brebajes dinner introduces Mexican flavors through a more intimate dining experience, while a 60-minute East Cape meditation session slows the tempo before the sea takes over again. The stay also includes one private marine expedition, with diving, fishing, or wildlife cruising selected according to how you want to experience Baja.
Airport transfers are included, which keeps the arrival simple and leaves the emphasis where it belongs: on the East Cape.
Move Between Arva, Luma, and Sesui
Dinner changes direction depending on the evening. Arva follows Aman’s Italian philosophy, Sesui turns toward Japanese cooking, while Luma works more closely with Baja’s coastal ingredients and open-fire techniques.
That same sense of place continues through the resort’s wellness program. Six private treatment rooms sit alongside two Hydro Houses with banya and hammam facilities, while a contemporary temazcal draws on the Mexican sweat-lodge tradition. It is a more relevant approach to Baja than importing another generic international spa concept.

Stay Close to the Landscape
With only 18 casitas, Amanvari keeps the scale deliberately intimate. Interiors stay restrained, with natural tones, custom ceramics, and work by local artists, while oversized windows and terraces turn the surrounding desert and sea into the dominant visual element.
All casitas span approximately 82 square meters and include a private heated pool. Choose an elevated position for broader views across the landscape, an estuary-facing casita for more privacy, or move directly onto the sand when proximity to the sea matters most.
And despite the sense of seclusion, Amanvari remains accessible. San José del Cabo International Airport sits approximately 45 to 60 minutes away by road, while private helicopter transfers cut the journey to around 15 minutes.
