Burberry Spring/Summer 2027 Blooms in Color this London Fashion Week

The Burberry trench has rarely looked this playful. For Burberry Spring/Summer 2027, Daniel Lee covers it in flowers, lets fabrics flow, and takes the maison’s familiar khaki through an unexpectedly fresh palette of moss green, yellow, salmon, orange, pink, and vivid blue.

At the center is Celia Birtwell, whose romantic prints helped shape London fashion in the 1960s and ’70s. Her flowers appear across trenches, shirts, shorts, and checks, sometimes embroidered, sometimes beaded, sometimes scattered across the fabric as though they had always belonged there. Against them, Burberry’s usual British precision softens and becomes considerably more carefree.

That lighter attitude carries into the fabrics and styling. Crushed taffeta slips against washed denim. Chiffon falls close to the body. Technical jackets sit with floral pieces and oversized sunglasses. Even the trench loses some of its formality through color, embroidery, puffed hems, and lighter fabrics.

Burberry in Bloom

Birtwell’s flowers reveal the collection at its most playful. They bloom across rumpled taffeta shirts and shorts, slip inside the Burberry check, and turn up again in delicate beadwork. Her illustrated faces mingle with the florals, lending the prints a touch of eccentricity. It is romantic, irreverent, and unmistakably British in spirit.

Color follows with equal audacity. Khaki as the grounding note, while acidic yellow, salmon pink, orange, and vivid green create an almost instinctive jeu de couleurs. Pink meets yellow. Orange flashes against green. A swimming-pool blue parka interrupts the earthier looks, while a bright orange trench scattered with berry-like embellishment captures the collection’s more exuberant allure.

Fabrication changes the tempo once again. Taffeta is crushed and froissé, stripping away any sense of preciousness. Denim comes washed in pink, black, and classic trench shades. Chiffon introduces le flou, skimming the body in long, fluid dresses. Technical outerwear and climbing details cut through that softness with a sportier attitude. Together, the wrinkled surfaces, sheer layers, saturated color, and outdoor references make Burberry SS27 look relaxed, youthful, and refreshingly unpredictable.
