McQueen Spring/Summer 2027 Finds Beauty in London’s Darkest Contrasts

For Spring/Summer 2027, McQueen is back where its story began. Seán McGirr presented the collection beneath the Gothic vaults of Lincoln’s Inn Chapel, placing some of the maison’s most precise tailoring and seductive eveningwear against one of London’s most atmospheric settings. It marked McQueen’s first official appearance on the London Fashion Week schedule since 2001.

That duality shapes the collection, capturing two sides of London that rarely sit quietly together. McGirr looked to the serenity of Piero della Francesca’s The Baptism of Christ and the charged energy of the city’s rave culture. Sacred imagery meets nightlife. Severe tailoring sits beside sheer fabric. Lace, smoked tulle, lacquered satin, leather, metal, and reflective organza create a wardrobe that remains unmistakably McQueen: dark, glamorous, sensual, and impeccably cut.

McQueen After Dark

There is something unmistakably London about McQueen this season. Seán McGirr worked with Huntsman, the Savile Row tailor whose relationship with McQueen stretches back decades. The result is sharp and unmistakably sexy. Jackets sit wide across the shoulders, while the waist is pulled in tight underneath. The contrast gives the tailoring its drama.

From there, the collection slips into evening. Lace and smoked tulle expose flashes of skin. Lacquered satin catches the light. Sheer organza softens the darker looks, while leather keeps the attitude intact. Some jackets flare at the back like wings. Long dresses stay close to the body before breaking into softer volume.

McQueen also reconnects with jeweller Shaun Leane, one of the names closely associated with the maison’s early years. His metal body pieces appear directly against the skin, including intricate skull details that look closer to jewellery than hardware.

By night, the collection is at its best. Black tailoring, sheer dresses, silver surfaces, bare skin, and sculpted shoulders come together with the kind of glamour McQueen has always understood instinctively: elegant, provocative, and impossible to ignore.
