Ex Nihilo's Demon Dancer Fragrance Comes Alive Inside Blue Box Pop-Up

August 9, 2026 Ex Nihilo's Demon Dancer

Demon Dancer Anchors a New Marais Ritual Through September

Ex Nihilo's Scarlet Sands, a Dubai-only edition, sold out in six minutes. That instinct for scarcity runs through the maison's DNA. Now it shapes Demon Dancer, Ex Nihilo's newest Eau de Parfum. The fragrance launched exclusively inside Harrods in London on July 17.

This month, before the rest of the world gets access, Demon Dancer lives inside Blue Box, a new pop-up Ex Nihilo launched on rue des Francs-Bourgeois in Le Marais, days after the Harrods debut.

Ex Nihilo Blue Box Concept Pop-up at Le Marais

The Blue Box Concept Pop-up runs nothing like a boutique. No counters, no sales floor, no transaction to rush through. Instead, signature blue walls hold masterclasses on raw materials, a curated edit of objects and books chosen by the Founders themselves. DJ sets, tastings, collaborations with figures from the Marais scene. The Founders stop by regularly. They talk creativity with whoever walks through the door.

Blue Box unfolds across three seasons: a summer celebration first; September will be entirely dedicated to Ex Nihilo's Demon Dancer Eau de Parfum. Then a holiday season centered on gifts, limited editions, and exclusive experiences.

Ex Nihilo's Demon Dancer, The Perfume

Ex Nihilo's Demon Dancer opens with a contradiction. Fire on one side. Freedom on the other. Choreographer Loys Assal crafted the campaign around that tension, drawing on the raw physicality of contemporary dance. The team shot it inside Maison Flagey in Brussels, a monumental 1970s radio station designed by Joseph Diongre. This location traces straight back to the Founders' own passion for architecture.

Master perfumer Jordi Fernández composed the juice around that same push-and-pull. Rhubarb and blood orange strike first, sharp and electric. Peppermint cuts through. Then orange blossom and blackcurrant soften the middle before the fragrance settles into its most guarded secret: an exclusive trio of Georgywood, Akigalawood, and Ambrofix, warmed by musk and tonka bean. The scent moves the way a dancer moves. Controlled, then wild, then controlled again.

Ex Nihilo at New York Fashion Week

Demon Dancer reaches the global market on September 1. New York gets there first among American cities, with its own celebration during New York Fashion Week, timed just ahead of Paris.

A Bloomingdale's counter on 59th Street already carries the fragrance, open now for anyone who wants to test it ahead of the wider release. Nordstrom, Saks, and Neiman Marcus carry it too, so Demon Dancer sits within easy reach across the city all September. The same sensory world Blue Box built in Paris travels to New York for Fashion Week: the scent, the movement, the story behind it, brought stateside for the week the city pays the closest attention.
