This September, as the fashion world descends upon Paris, the city’s grand magasins are scripting a new narrative. One where editorial vision leaps off the page and into physical spaces. In a powerful synergy of print and place, two iconic department stores are hosting landmark takeovers by leading women’s titles, transforming shopping into a deep dive into fashion culture.

Viva Grazia X La Samaritaine

Grazia magazine is making a statement at La Samaritaine, taking over the first floor until October 29, 2025. Viva Grazia celebrates nearly 90 years of editorial history.

Step inside, and you’re flipping through a living magazine. From the Italian debut issue of 1938 to today’s trend-setting covers, the exhibition traces Grazia’s evolution. Céline Perruche, Grazia’s Editorial Director, curates a seasonal autumn-winter fashion selection displayed as a tangible “shopping list” for visitors.

The experience extends to a series of talks delving into the art of magazine-making and the intersection of fashion, culture, and commerce. On September 27, Perruche shares insights on “The Art of Creating a Magazine”. Followed by Pascal Monfort of trend studio Rec on October 11, exploring “Fashion Press: Between Culture and Commerce.”

ELLE x BHV Marais

Simultaneously, the Bazar de l’Hôtel de Ville (BHV Marais) is celebrating the 80th anniversary of ELLE with a store-wide festivity. The department store’s windows have been transformed with the magazine’s signature aesthetic. Throughout September, the partnership comes alive with weekly engagements: connect with ELLE’s journalists every Wednesday for a behind-the-scenes look at the newsroom, and return on Saturdays for a curated program of lifestyle and wellness activities.
