Marni SS27 finds Meryll Rogge in a more playful mood for her second collection at the maison. Starting with the idea of transformation, she takes polished, slightly proper wardrobe codes and interrupts them with odd proportions, vivid color, rhinestones, and a touch of irreverence. The show took place at Viale Umbria 42 in Milan, inside a deconstructed wooden set created with Formafantasma, while Sunday Rose Kidman Urban joined the runway in a lilac shearling coat, check mini, and buckled boots.

Pretty, With A Mean Streak

Rogge mixes A-line dresses, striped capri pants, pencil skirts, low waists, waistcoats, and Afghan-style coats with oversized buttons, misplaced fastenings, macro sequins, and zips. The tension is what makes Marni SS27 work: proper on paper, slightly unruly in reality.

Lilac, orange, red, green, and sugary pastels collide with checks, stripes, florals, and patchworked prints, giving the collection its playful rhythm. Granny-style knits soften the sharper looks, yet lingerie-inspired constructions and slipped midi skirts introduce a more sensual note.

The Details Get Cheekier

Chunky enamel earrings, ballet flats with exaggerated straps, knee-high socks in deliberately odd colors, and generous doses of rhinestones push the eccentricity exactly far enough. The accessories never compete with the looks; they sharpen the humor already running through the collection.
