Saint Laurent Unveils Sushi Park Paris, Bringing Los Angeles’ Sought-After Omakase to the Heart of Paris

February 21, 2025 – Saint Laurent Sushi Park

Saint Laurent Rive Droite returns after a year of renovations, unveiling a new addition—Sushi Park Paris. Located at 213 rue Saint-Honoré, in Paris’s first arrondissement, the heart of luxury shopping, the Boutique now offers an exclusive culinary experience just steps from the Tuileries and Place Vendôme.

From February 21, its basement transforms into an omakase dining space, welcoming Sushi Park’s first permanent location outside Los Angeles. This marks the next chapter in Saint Laurent’s partnership with Chef Peter Park, Founder of Sushi Park, Los Angeles. Known for his minimalist approach, Park crafts an omakase experience defined by precision and restraint.

A Story That Began in Los Angeles

Anthony Vaccarello, Saint Laurent’s Creative Director, first discovered Sushi Park in Los Angeles. The omakase experience caught his attention—no extravagant rolls, just expertly prepared fish. In 2022, he invited Chef Peter Park to Paris for a Fashion Week pop-up. The response was immediate. Now, that collaboration becomes permanent.

Since 2006, Peter Park has built Sushi Park into one of LA’s most exclusive Omakase destinations. His focus on seasonal ingredients and special techniques has drawn a devoted following. Now, he brings that philosophy to Paris.

Sushi Park Paris embodies Omakase’s core principle—trust. Guests don’t order. Instead, Park selects the freshest ingredients and prepares the pieces in real-time. This simplicity mirrors Saint Laurent’s approach to design—sharp, deliberate, and without unnecessary embellishment.

A Space Defined by Contrast

Beneath the Boutique, the atmosphere shifts. Dim lighting, anthracite furniture, and a lacquered wood counter create an intimate setting. Japanese awnings soften the space, while metal doors and glass blocks add contrast. Every element is deliberate. Nothing is left to chance.

Saint Laurent extends this vision beyond dining. The Boutique now features fifteen black-and-white metal pieces by Donald Judd, designed in 1984. These minimalist forms reflect the Maison’s engagement with design and contemporary culture.

A Cinematic Opening

To mark the opening, Saint Laurent released a short film, directed by Pierre-Ange Carlotti. The film, posted on Instagram, features familiar faces—Lourdes Leon, Saint Levant, Dominic Sessa, and more. Shot within the new space, the visuals highlight dark sculptural furniture and ceramics designed by Professor Kim.

This project was produced under Saint Laurent Productions, the Maison’s film division, launched in 2023. The brand has worked with directors like David Cronenberg, Nadia Lee Cohen, and Paolo Sorrentino and most recently co-produced Jacques Audiard’s Oscar-nominated film Emilia Perez.

Saint Laurent’s Growing Cultural Influence

Sushi Park isn’t the only new addition. In 2024, Saint Laurent opened Babylone, a bookstore and gallery on rue de Grenelle. Currently, the space hosts Limehouse Flowers by Alessandro Furchino Capria, on view until March 16.

These expansions mark a shift. Saint Laurent is building a cultural presence and continues to invest in art, design, and gastronomy.

Other luxury brands have explored similar territory. Jacquemus collaborated with Caviar Kaspia. Gucci opened its Michelin-starred Osteria da Massimo Bottura in Florence. Bottega Veneta introduced curated Fanzines, while Miu Miu continues its Women’s Tales film series.
