Maison Delano’s 18th-Century Courtyard Becomes Le Patio Brugal, Pairing Rum Cocktails With French-Andalusian Plates And Dominican Ritual
Every Sunday until October, Maison Delano Paris reshapes brunch as a ritual. Set inside an 18th-century hôtel particulier near the Palais de l’Élysée, the official French presidential palace, the hotel transforms its private courtyard into Le Patio Brugal: a Dominican-tinted space where Caribbean blue meets Parisian restraint.
The brunch centers on Brugal, the Dominican rum house with 135 years of barrel-aged heritage. The cocktails take inspiration from Picasso’s playful spirit. Expect a Coco Fizz twist served with citrus scallops, a Bee’s Knees riff paired with vitello tonnato, and a reimagined Sazerac alongside Kristal caviar potatoes.
The interactive cocktail atelier invites guests to craft their own Brugal Coco Highball under the guidance of expert bartenders. Afterward, a Dominican cafecito ritual closes the experience: coffee laced with rum, echoing the street cafés of Santo Domingo.
The hotel’s design, by Lázaro Rosa-Violán, amplifies contrasts — Parisian minimalism meets Andalusian warmth. Expect a sensory mix of textures: crisp linens, stone, wood, and delicate glass. The brunch isn’t just a meal; it’s a choreography of materials, flavors, and time zones, folding the Caribbean into the Parisian triangle of power.
Honoring Craft and Legacy
The brunch program reflects Brugal’s long-standing commitment to craftsmanship. Founded in 1888, the Dominican distillery has shaped five generations of rum expertise, perfecting cask aging and blending. The brunch menu honors this history, pairing aged spirits with Mediterranean dishes that draw on the hotel’s French-Andalusian culinary roots under chef Dani García.
