Tote Bags, Mini-Malles, and Small Leather Goods Merging Pop Culture and French Savoir Faire
This autumn, the French luxury trunk-maker Moynat, a quiet star of the LVMH portfolio, unveiled an unprecedented collaboration with Hong Kong artist Kasing Lung. Celebrating the tenth anniversary of Lung’s creations, The Monsters, it prominently features the internet sensation, Labubu. Across Moynat’s monogrammed canvases and leathers, the artist’s fantastical bestiary comes to life.
In the process, the collection marks Moynat’s boldest step into contemporary pop culture, marrying its 19th-century artisan heritage with the playful energy of a digital-age phenomenon.
The collaboration takes shape as a limited edition collection of bags and small leather goods. Front and center, Zimomo and King Mon appear alongside the fanged Labubu. They inhabit everything from versatile tote bags in three sizes to structured silhouettes like the Hobo and Mini 48h. Even the highly exclusive Mignon bag receives the artistic touch.
Small leather goods, including cardholders, passport cases, and charms, carry the mischievous energy of Kasing Lung directly into Moynat’s craftsmanship.

From Viral Plush to Luxury Collaboration
For over a year, the Labubu plush toy has dominated celebrity Instagram feeds and resale markets. Its striking design, small, fanged, and mischievous, made it irresistible. Rare models have sold for premium prices, fueling a devoted collector following.
Unlike fleeting trends, Labubu has a story. The character originates in The Monsters, Kasing Lung’s trilogy of illustrated books. Over ten years, these little monsters have evolved from niche comic creations into global cultural icons. Their playful, sometimes chaotic charm captures both childhood nostalgia and contemporary pop sensibilities.
Moynat’s capsule collection represents the first full embrace of this phenomenon by a luxury house. Rather than merely using Labubu as a bag charm, the Maison integrates the creatures into core designs, from structured silhouettes to small leather goods. The effect is both playful and sophisticated, highlighting the Maison’s craftsmanship alongside Kasing Lung’s storytelling.
