Most design week presentations show you objects. The Milanese House – Una Notte a Milano showed you a life! Elie Saab Maison transformed the spaces at Via Pietro Mascagni 2 into a Milanese apartment after dark. Not a showroom. A home, inhabited and atmospheric, where light, sound, scent, and material did the work together.
The concept drew from the cinematic language of 1970s Milan, developed under the creative direction of architect Carlo Colombo in close collaboration with Elie Saab. A sequence of rooms revealed one after another, each one a scene from a private story.
Elie Saab Maison Builds a Collection Around Presence and Craft
At the living room, the Mascagni sofa commands the space with its generous proportions and signature plissé upholstery. The Manzoni modular sofa introduces flexibility with padded volumes, leather, and metal elements. The Royal Byblos, a reinterpretation of the iconic Byblos sofa from the Maison's first collection, returns with amplified volume and a balanced grandeur, making the most scenographic piece in the room.
The dining space builds around the Atlas table, designed for large-scale convivial environments. Presented here with the signature Volo pattern, it demonstrates exceptional material research. The Orizzonte screen stands beside it: antique mirror surfaces creating depth, reflection, and visual layering across the space. The Nobile desk anchors the study, combining marble, leather, and refined details in a precise, architectural composition. The Musa bed completes the collection, its harmonious proportions conferring quiet elegance to the bedroom.
At the heart of the Collector's Series, the Onda armchair distinguishes itself through a fluid structure and a dialogue between upholstery and bronze base. The Lobster armchair arrives in a limited edition olive dégradé finish, its enveloping silhouette elevated by the depth of the colorway.
Elie Saab Maison Grounds the Collection in Italian Materials
The material research runs through everything. Bouclé, wool, and fine lana, entirely Italian in origin and production, build a rich tactile palette. Metals arrive in refined bronze finishes and a distinctive nocturnal blue. Camouflage Marble and Lepanto Green marble, selected for their unique veining and tonal richness, reinforce the identity of each piece.
Kitchens and wardrobes developed with SCIC integrate effortlessly into the collection's language. Rugs created with Sahrai translate textures and colors into tactile compositions. Decorative objects developed with Giobagnara refine the space with materials and details.
A curatorial program by Spirale Milano and Giglio Art brought works by Alighiero Boetti and Christo into the rooms, inhabited alongside the furniture.
