A Hotel, Spa, Rooftop, and Restaurants Come Together Under One Contemporary Shell
June 1, 2025- La Fondation Hotel Paris

La Fondation Hotel Paris opened this spring with a full-scale experience: rooftop cocktails, wellness rituals, and seasonal French cuisine. All under one vast Brutalist-inspired roof. Designed by PCA-STREAM and styled by Roman & Williams. La Fondation Hotel Paris brings a new kind of hospitality to the capital, where architecture, culture, and community meet. A laid-back rhythm with a chic-but-casual approach to Parisian living.
Behind the doors at 40 rue Legendre, every detail speaks to intent. Roman & Williams imagined the interiors as a tactile landscape—brushed oak, mirrored surfaces, and color-block walls that echo Yves Saint Laurent’s Mondrian dress. Their approach draws on a refined rawness, made immersive through large-scale works by Vedran Jakšić and Pierre-Yves Canard, placed like quiet surprises throughout the space.
The exterior, shaped by Philippe Chiambaretta Architecte, brings a brutalist edge to a residential street: wide bay windows, exposed concrete, and layered terraces that breathe light into each level. But none of it feels cold. From the entrance onward, La Fondation hums with quiet energy—curated art, natural materials, and staff who know how to disappear until you need them.
Dine With A View. Swim Before Sunset. Hear Jazz After Dark
Inside, the hotel features 58 rooms and suites across seven floors, designed with geometric symmetry and color-blocked walls. On the rooftop, panoramic views stretch from Sacré-Cœur to the Eiffel Tower. You’ll want to linger.
The rooftop also houses one of the hotel’s two restaurants, led by Chef Thomas Rossi. Expect a bistronomic menu anchored in seasonal produce and modern technique. Downstairs, the brasserie carries the same spirit with a livelier tone—perfect for impromptu lunches or dinner with friends. Then there’s brunch: elevated classics like soft-boiled eggs with rose Baccarat, smoked trout, or chicken marinated with paprika and yogurt.
The hotel doubles as a wellness haven. There’s a spa with hammam, sauna, and treatment suites. A semi-Olympic pool. A glass-walled gym. And in a rare move for Paris hospitality, a vertical climbing wall. The pace here is not rushed. Guests alternate between rooftop cocktails and cold plunges. The space encourages movement, rest, and rediscovery.
The entire space is powered by Terlia, and directed by Valeriya Savchuk, who described it simply: “You’re here to feel good. Focus, rest, and live.”
Beyond the wellness and the view, La Fondation invites a cultural rhythm. The Hotel produces intimate concerts, artist dinners, themed salons, and talks. La Fondation Hotel Paris curates creative moments. The ambiance is low-key, but not low-energy. Ideal for readers who want access without exposure, and elegance without affectation.
